Then the Hollys secured 3140 wortn of
revenge from the Americans In a game full
of heart-breaking Interest, by tne score of
2 to 1. All the scoring was done In the
last innings. The Hollys were robbed ot
the satisfaction of a shutout through carelessness-
with two" out in the nlntn. Both
Ditchers starred, but in the ninth in
ning the Hollvs found Brodbeck for a two
bagger, a three bagner nd a fast grounder,
which tallied two scores. The Americana
showed their class In the fifth, when Fal
coner led off with a three-sacker, yet
could not get home. Besides holding the
Americans at his mercy all through the
game, Ted Cross, the Hollys' twirler. prac
tically won his own game, driving In a run
with his three-sacker, which placed him
in a position to score himself with the
run which proved to he the winning one.
When the last American expired, Pitcher
Cross was rushed by enthusiastic Ilcdly
rooters, receiving an .ovation and a ride
around the diamond on the shoulders of
the fans. This makes five games Cross
has pitched for the Hollys. and in that
time "Big Squirrel" lies allowed only three
runs and nine hits. Glllham's work at sec

tain making several hair-raising stops. The
Hollys promised not 1 to drinx from the

The drlhhle was defined as a contlnu us

CAM PA KL1, A S DEFEAT HOOPER
Game Played In Rnln Keanlta In Score
of 5 to 3.
HOOPER, Neb., June 29. (Special.) The
Campanellas of Omttha defeated Hooper
here yesterday In .a good game, score 6 to
3. Hooper has no chances to win while the
campanellas had many opportunities to pll
up a high score. Rulger was hit hard arwi
timely, four of the Campanella's five runs
being earned. Each team pulled out of
many tight holes, in every inning the Cam
panellas having three or more men on
base. "Cap" Benson pitched for the
Camps and although, unable to locate t tie
plate, he pitched a steady game, allowing
but three hl's ai.d pulling out of two or
tnree difficult positions.
Pat Keenedy's batting, he getting two
two-Backers and a single out of three times
up was the only feature of the game.
Bulger was hit the hardest he has been
this year, and but for the luck of the
Omaha boys, would have earned a larger
score.
After two men were out In the last half
of the seventh Inning and two strikes wero
called on the batter, the umpire, for some
unknown reason, threw up his nanus anil
said the game was over.
The game was played In a steady down
pour of rain which made the ball difficult
to handle.
On the Fourth of July the Campanellas
will play at Blanchard, la., and besides
a guarantee of 376. win, loae or tie, the
management has promised the Omaha boys
a rousing reception and a good game at
Shenandoah on SiirAbty, July 6.
