nuHl outing for the children of St. James'
Orphanage will he held this year at
Krug's park, under the uusplces of the
Knights of Columbus, July 6. The chil
dren will be taken for a ride around the
city In the morning and returned to thts
park In time for lunch. A special pro
gram for the day has been prepared. The
children will be shown all the attraction"
of the park and a balloon ascensiun will
be given for their benefit In the evening.
Friends of the children are Invited to
bring their friends and spend the day
and evening at the park to assist In any
way possible In showing the children a
good time.
Maw Sort of Band Bcraener Contractors
and handlers of builders' supplies are con
siderably Interested In a new Invention
of W. U. Korab of Spencer, Neb., in tha
shape of a sand screener, which screens
the sand Into three grades at one time.
Korab built the machine for his own una
at first, using wood for all the parts.
Considerable interest was aroused In his
neighborhood and after Investigation It
was learned that nothing of the kind had
ever been entered In the patent office.
The machine, which Is a double wire cyl
inder affair, with a slight Incline, can ha
operated by either hand or motor. Korab
has considerable capital Interested in the
arfair and contemplates building a fac
tory for Its manufacture In Omaha. The
machine has been on exhibition Jusi south
of the Auditorium for the last week.

left Sioux City for Omaha Wednesday
got stuck on a sandbar two miles above
Florence Friday morning and Is liable to
