June a-The weakrjeaa of to?ks today gave an Impression of less asftlveneas than the occasional droop wnn ntervala of recovery last week. There was only small expansion In the volume of the desllngs to sccount for this appearance. The active desire shown to get out 01 holdings of one or two stocks waa largely cciuntsnle for the changed tone 01 me dealings. Over half of all thu cattle here were cows snd heifers, among the number being a few little bunches of branded west erners, but the most of them natives on th common to Medium order and grassy. The supply ot beef cattle waa small, the proportion of that kind being very much lighter than usual of late. Buyers of beef steers were out In the yards early this morning and as they all hud orders for a few the limited number of cattle on Sale changed hands In very good season In the morning. The good kinds were strong to a little higher, one string of seven csrs of well finished beeves brining $7.95, which was only 6c lower than the extreme top this season. The feeling on the common to medium kinds show ing grass waa weak and It Is very evident from the way buyers talk that they figure on buying tnat kind lower whenever re-, ceipta are large enough -to give them am op portunity. 1 - There were fifty or sixty car.s of cows snd heifers on sale and as the market on una stock has been very high st this -point as compared with southern markets whlcii ure getting heavy runs of Texaa cattle. buyers announced right from the outset that they would take ' off as much as 26a on anything showing grass. If they failed to take oif that much It must have bten a mistake, as their Intentions were certainly In that direction. There were very few cornfed cowa and heifers and anything right desirable along that Una would probably not have shown so much decline, but the general market was at least bioc lower and very slow at the decline. There were a few scattering loads of stock tattla and a lew feeders, but the mar ket did not present any new or interesting features, prices being generally about steady with last week. yuotatloiis on cattle: Oood to choice cornfed steers, 37.25tUi.95: fair to good corn fed steers, 3t.00ft'7.25; common to fair corn fed aleera, 36.0ot;J.00; good to choice cows and heifers, 14.
