Locally receipts consisted very largely of cornfed steers, with a very small sprink ling of butcher stock and feeders. Included smong the receipts were nineteen cars of southern csttle on their wsy to tha Da kota range which were not offered for sale. It was very evident this morning thst packers wera all hungry for beef cattle and they were out In tha yarda earlier than usual. The trade- waa sctlve snd ths early arrivals were pretty much all cleaned up bv t o'clock In tha morning although lata tratna prolonged tha trade conalderably beyond that hour. In addition to being ac tive, the market waa aafely 10e higher than yesterday. To quote it 16irr26c higher for the two daya thie week would be a very eoneervatlve estimate. Among the offerings today wera several bunches of very choice yearling steers and heifers, which sold at t4.76'-.90. Tha market for cows and heifers waa al most bare., there being hardla. enough cattle of that kind to really make a good test of valuea Still what few cattle there wera aold very readily at prices that wera a little higher again than yesterday. For tha two days the market ts aafely lnFl6c higher on tha general run of cow atuff. The stocker snd feeder market wss al most bare, but the feeling was fully steady and strong, to say tha Least.
