SIOUX BATTING WINS GAME Iowant Found Sanieri Hard sod Tike Gamt 9 to 4. R0UHKE3 MAKE BAD START Campbell, First Mem l, Starts he Hlttlag- far Visiters Cos, rades Keep It I'p fer Thirteen. Omaha, 4; Sloug City, 9. If all the members of the Rourke family had hit the ball with the vigor, vim and accuracy which was used by Chlckering Autrey, the final score would not have been 9 to 4 against the champions, Tues day, and another game might have been added to the long list of wins wntcn are now to the credit of the Omaha team. But the trouble was that the heavy hit ting was done on the other side and the boys with the grey traveling uniforms were credited with a total of thirteen hits, on rhlch they made nine runs by the aid of four bases on balls. To the credit of the Rourke family, may It be said, that no aid was given to the Sioux by errors and they came out of. the fray with the. error column as clear as a whistle. Warfleld Sanders did not have the right glove on his off mlt, or something else was wrong for he pitched more like some novice than like the war scarred veteran of many fray. He seemed to have no speed and when they rolled over the plate as big a balloons the Blous landed on them at will and hit them hard, a the ummary of double and triples will show. Every man on the Iowa team except Weed and the pitcher made one or more lilts. Omahl made eight hits, but the trouble was they were not bunched, and how could they be when Chicken got four of the eight. Any how Sanders had a bad day and when it commenced to gJ bad for him. Captain Franck did not show the least Inclination to let him off, but made him stick to the post ind twirl out the game. Bad Start fer Otnabana. The first Inning was about enough to win the. game and It also showed which way the straw was going to blow, so wise one, nad plenty of time to hedge. Camp- , w ..... v. kv.i r.t malt. urn, li.. Ing a hit the first time up, and as he leads off for the Sioux, It Is a bad habit. Monday he led off with a double and Tuesday he led off with a single. Bpencer followed with another single and Andreas' sacrifice helped them along a notch. Weed hit to Captain Franck, but he was too late to catch Campbell at the plate and the flrt run had been made. Then came Henry with the first of his three hits, and drove In another run, putting Weed on third. from which spot he scored on Welch's fly to Householder. It really looked bad for the Champs and It turned out to be bad King made first base twice by fast sprint ing by which he practically forced an error, nd each time he was able to keep on scooting around until he landed on third, and each time he was sacrificed home by Captain Franck. On another occasion he singled and the Chicken brought him home with a double. Banders had made a single and he came home with the other on the same double. The story of the way the 8loux made their runs would be but the story of hard hitting. For Instance, In the third Inning, three runs were made on two bases on balls, two doubles and A single. In thT fifth Inning two' mora were made on two singles, a stolen base and a triple. The same teams thl afternoon. The score; - , OMAHA, AS. R. H. O. A. IS.
