ent season will be a full one, as dstes have
already Nen arranged with Normal, Blmp
snn. Pella and other schools, and the
Drake team will probably compete In the
atate tournament at Cedar Hunlda. The
men have been on the courts for a week,
and It will ba necesssry to pick the team
for the first of thediial contests In two
weeks. Hill, Prston. Arnold and Hieke are
the leaders of tha bunch at present.
Nine to one was the final score In tha
practice gam played Friday afternoon at
Vinton Street park between Pa'a cham
pions and tha college lads from Bellevue,
Pa winning. Tha game was really much
more Interesting than tha score would In
dlcate, as the Bellevue team fielded like
professionals and the pitchers did good
work, except In. the seventh, when Browne
weakened and Omaha mad alx runs.
Browne, the aouth paw, Is the- same
Browne who struck such terror to oppos
ng root ban players last fall with bis
good left oe, and he la Just as good with
his left arm and should be able to worry
any college team. Fowler starred In center
field and made two or three hard running
catches. Until the seventh Inning the
score stood 2 to 1 In favor of the profes
sionals, but tho seventh saw the downfall
of the collegians, for the pros lit on
Brown for fovfr hlta, which, coupled with
base on balls, two errors and two stolen
bases, did the business.
Hall showed them no mercy while he
waa In the gam, but sent In his entire
repertory of benders and crossfires, to the
utter dismay of the lads from the south
striking out Seven of them.
Bellevue' score came from overeager-
nesa on the part of Austin, who triad to
tag tha runner before ha had hold of tha
bail. Dow opened up yie sixth Inning with
a double and was sacrificed to third bv
Marvel. Chirk slammed the ball back
across the diamond, but Austin mlsqued
and Dow cam home.
Sioux City will open a three days en
gagement this afternoon.
The score:

"This talk about Bcell or Burns not being

Klank. Been s partner. "1 can Bay for
Beell that he has x&io as a side Det lor a

him a wrestle anywhere or any time. Beell
offered to wrestle big Hack, whom Gotcli
threw, and certainly he wouldn't have any
reason not to meet Charley unless It might
be that he thouant mm too easy.
Dr. Roller wltes me he cannot come to
Omaha until the laxt of May, so we will
arrange for a match with Carkeek and

Charley Hackenschmldt, who was adver

Pardello Is sick and cannot come and wanta
