The Noble Farmer Now the noble hus
bandman, snuffing the fragrance of coming
spring, beatlra himself to look after bis seed
grain, getting It cleaned properly mo only
the best shall bo scattered where It will
produce some sixty, some a hundred and
somo a thousand fold: to put In order his
harness; to get a bolt or brace for the
seeder or cultivator or disc; to aharpen his
tools for more effective work; to feed up
his horses to a fit condition for upturning
the soil; to make general arrangements for
causing his acres to blossom as the roso
the coming season. To the enthusiastic
farmer these things present an Inviting
prospect. They afford opportunity for him
to dream pleasant dreams of grateful am
bition and noble achievement. The one who
doesn't build an occasional air castle sel
dom builds ample barns or a commodious
home, lie must feel an Inspiration and
have Ideas to make him the sort of farmer
that moves and feeds the world. The scent
of approaching spring and seed time sets
all his nerves vibrating like strings of a
flute or lyre. Fremont Tribune.
Tim Promises to Get Busy During the
last few weeks the editor of the Times has
devoted his time and attention largely to
the paper and the result haa been a very
noticeable Increase In the business and
aubscriptlon. It Is our Intention to continue
ta make the Times our chief concern and
to make It as good a newspaper as the
constituency will permit. Heretofore our
time has been too much occupied with poll
tice and other things to admit of the best
work on the paper, but some time alnce
wo decided to make everything secondary
! and to Interest ourself In politics only sa
much as is necessary to keep our readers
informed on the subject. It la necessary
for an editor of a political paper to study
politics and to Inform himself In regard to
public men for the benefit of his paper and
to that extent we will be in politics, but
only so tar as la necessary to our occupa
tion as an editor. It will be our aim to give
the Times our best effort in every direction
and everything- ' will be subservient to
it. In this way we hope to be able to make
the Tlmea a fair repreeentatlve of the
enterprise and character ot Ita constituency.
