Reports from eastern markets were ex tremely bearish and although the de mand appeared to be good from both local packers and eastern buyers, bids were gen erally all of loj 25c lower than at the close of last week and business was extremely dull at the decline. Handy-weight beeves were the best sellers, while the good, heavy cattle did not meet with much favor from any source and It waa well along toward noon before any great amount of trading was done. The market for cows and heifers was fully as much off as the fat cattle trade, and although the demand was fair, all classes of buyers Insisted upon lower figures and the bulk of the trading was done on the basis of a lOUic decline.
