Still the supply has been Just about on a par with the demand, in fact, on some days lt looked as If there were more cattle than- were needed. However, the supply has been pretty well cleaned up, although It took a good deal of work to dispose of some of the less desirable kinds. The arrivals have consisted largely of warmed up and half fat steers, with a liberal sprinkling of cow stuff and a few loads ot stockcrs and feeders. In the beef trade it has been about oho thing all the week. Packers have wanted a few good killers the same as they alway do Just before the holiday, but they have been very poor buyers of the common to medium grades and stuff coming uuder the latter head has been very hard to move. Supply and demand balancing- each other fireuy well has occasioned no great change n prices. In fact the market has been quoted slow, but steady, with common to medium kinds ' weak every day.
