CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL VOICE Tenor lo May Bo HtpriHsne la Keprano at Barltaae and . Baa Can Go Vn'to Illgk Tenor. An Omsha boy, a Junior In the high school, has created an Invention wnicn bids fair to eiutse a rero1utlon In the rhonograph business. The boy Is Lee Mitch ell and the Invention Is an attachment which makes It porslMe to play a record not only In the key In which It was piayeo or sung In making tha .record, ' but tn every key. A tenor solo can be sung in a soprano or a baritone, a bass can be ung as a bnrlton and even aa a tenor.- The young man has been at work on the Invention for about five months. The vibra tion of sound Is the principle on which It la founded. He has an old phonograph machine for his experiments. It haa not yet been patented and no one knows Just what the mvenllon Is except tha Inventor. It Is boxed up In the phonograph box and this Is kept carefully locked. But It does the work. J"or the entertain ment of a reporter the young "man gave an exhibition. "Rocked In the Cradle ot the Deep" was put on and played In Its orlg Inul bass key. Then, by simply moving a lever on the phonograph, the voice rose and soared until the piece was being sung as a tener. Then the lever was pushed In the opposite direction tlntll the tone was lower thsn any human voice ever reached and when some of the notes were so low that they could not be hesrd by the human ear. " With this Invention It Is no longer neces sary to have Caruso sing Into the. rhono graph to make a record wlt extraor dinarily hlph notes. Caruso has reached high C. The ordinary lnor Cannot go above hlfc'h A flat. But with this invention an or dinary tenor' solo may be taken and raised not only to Caruro's high C-but ersn above It. The young Invntor says the attachment could be put orr-lho ofdlnary. phonograph at very small cost. Tha Increased, yaluo It would give to tha machine' yvhlch pos sessed It Is apparent. - ' v the Inventor lives at 201 8onth Central boulevard. He Is the son of Mr snd Mrs. McClollan C.
