CATTLE The cattle market, aa usual on
Saturday, waa the next thing to bare of
supplies, there not being enough cattle to
cut any flruro whatever on the market.
The receipt for th week have ahown a
heavy falling off aa oomparod with, laat
week and with a year ago.
There was a sharp decline In beef steer
t all market points on Monday with Tues
day' market generally weak at the best.
On WedneedMy, receipts becoming right and
buyers reallxlng that they would likely con
tinue light until tha end of the week, the
mArket took a turn for the better, so that
th decline ths flrat of the week waa pretty
well wiped out. On Friday recelpta were
gain light, and a bu?ers were very
hungry for few cattle, steer wer fre
sellers t prices that were strong to 10c
higher than th previous Wednesday. Tak
ing the week an a whole. It I saf to quota
t-.e market a olosinc 10 hixher than th
Yrerv ion week and In some cases a much
as inc nigner.
Cow and heifer also experienced set
back th first of th week, but they, too,
advaood later on under th double In
fluence of light receipt and free buying.
The market at the close la generally loo
higher than at the close of laat week.
Th receipt of Blocker and feeder
wer vary light all the week, with tha re
sult that the amount of business doing wss
eeroasaiiry limited. There wa a very fair
buying demand for thl season of th year
throughout the whole weak, which gave
frlce a npward tendency amounting for
ha week to a much aa I092O0. -Quotations

HOGS Hogs wer actrv tht morn trie at
an advance of Me ovor veaterdav'a
market, everything being sold and weighed
up at an early hour. Tha hoes sold varv
largely at 34.60, with quit a sprinkling a
Mgb as 34.66. and a too at M 40. Yeaterdav
84.34 wa the leading price with about 24
per owni ox in sates at at, 40, and a top al
14.46.
It will be remembered that laat weak th
market waa lower every day from a tart to
nrilah. This week ha been Just th reverso.
On Monday the market wa the lowest of
th season, hog selling on that day on an
averax of 33.9a. Price have been higher
every day sine then, th week cloalng'
4fttf46o higher than at tba do of laat week.
Th receipt this week have been very light
at thl point, a large falling off a com
pared win tha previous week and with a
3 ear ago. Th rapid advaaoa In tha price
of hogs has fiept everyone guessing as to
tha futar of the market. The bear who
weri predicting that hoy would sell right
around 34 00 have been forced to v way
to the bulla, who believe that there la noth
ing tn th general buxlaeea situation to war
rant such low prices. Tn bear, however,
contend that tha present advance ta only a
spurt and that price will taka a tura
downward m th near future. No oa caa
tell, however, and it remain for th future
to decide.
