The forest reserve service ,mploy a
great mnny men In various capacities who
seemingly have nothing directly 1o ,lo with
the forest service, they do In a way. Hun
ters are empjoyed especially to hunt down
and destroy coyotes and wild cats. Twc
hunters named F. L. Breldstoln and 3. 8.
Whitlach In the vicinity of Boise have
killed nearly 300 coyotes and wild cats since
Apr'l 1. They are the only authorised hun
ters In that soctlon. The live atock nen
asslBt In the payment for the services of
those men. The stockmen claim that one
coyote will destroy $100 worth of sheep dur
ing a season. These hunters will be kept
in the employ of the service during the re
mainder of the grazing season and will then
be sent to the low hills and deserts, where
It Is expected they will kill off great num
bers of the pests. All these animals are
caught In traps or Bhot, as the forest serv
ice will not permit the use of poison In the
forest reservations."
COURT ENDS DIVORCE CASE

Because he failed to allow-.lie had a legal
residence in Douglas county Theodore
Hazard, late of Mansfield, O., failed to
secure a divorce from Minnie Hazard In
Judge Button's court Friday. Hazard said
ho was a telegraph operator, dependent on
his -salary, but admitted he had not been
working since he came to Omaha about
six months ago. He also said he had been
In and out of the city In this time and had
no permanent address. His only corroba
tlve witness was a young woniun, who said
she was the wife of a' Chicago saloon
keeper and was Hazard's sister. Her an
swers In regard to Hazard's permanent ad
dress and occupation were not satisfactory
to the court.' She appeared in the court
room very stylishly dressed and with, her
firgers covered with d'am nd rings. Hazard
declared his wife had deserted hlra .some,
time ago and he did not know where she
la now. Judge Button declared the case
was too weak to warrant a decree and dis
missed the suit. .

An Albright street car ran into the rear
end of a wagon at Twenty-ninth and Cum
ing atreets Friday at 1:80 p. m., throwing
I the occupants, William Fink' and E. A.
i Rand, out of the wagon, badly demolish
ing the wagon and serious injuring tne
horses, one of which may die. The twe, In
jured men were picked up by M. M. Black
man, who took them In an automobile to
the police station, where they were at
tended by Police Surgeon Harris. Rand
had sustained a fracture of the left gnu
and Fink had his left k- fractured and his
left arm dislocated. Both men were 'con
siderably bruised about the body.
