CATTt.W There were
a few car of cat-
tie in the vard thla morning, but as usual
on Saturday not enough to make a market.
The total receipts for the week nsvo nffn
very laige, showing liberal gains over last
week and the corresponding week of a year
ago. The quality of the rweipts, however.
has not been overly good, the smvais
consisting largely of cow Stuff and feeders,
witii a very large mixture ot wnnt ouyers
generally term trash.
Beef steers of all kinds, corn-red ami
ranger, both good and bad. have been
In very light receipt throughout the week.
Desirable beeves especially have been
scsrre and there has been a complaint
nearly every day on the part of buyers
who were unable to secure enough good
killers to fill orders. In consequence of the
kght offerings the market has been In a
good healthy condition, with price gener
ally a little stronger at the close of the
week on the good kind at least. -
While .cow and better have been In
very liberal receipt throughout the week,
strictly good killers have been by no mean
pientirui, ana anything answering tnat de
scription ha sold very readily at firm
price. In fact, most salesmen are quoting
strictly good cows as stronger as compared
with a week ago. On the otlrer hand, with
large offerings of common to medium
grades, the msrket on such has had a ten
dency toward weakness, being generally
a little easier at the close of the week.
Stockera and feedera have been coming
In very fast this week, but with a large
attendance of country buyers they have
gone out equally as fast. All good grade
of feeders nave commanded strong prices
throughout the week, being very free sell
ers at current figures. Even the medium
grades have sold very good, although pos
sibly the rough-horned cattle are a trifle
easier at the close of the week, still the
change, If any, has been slight.

HOOB It was ops those slow, steady to
easier markets, that while not showing very
much difference, are still unsatisfactory, to
the sellers. The trade waa slow In spite of
the fact that reoelpta were even lighter
than expected, with the close dull and a
little lower than yeaterday. The moat of
the hogs here were on the heavy order
so that the Bales on paper do not ahow up
as well as yeaterday.

unfavorable conditions prevailing at east
