an effort to get the next convention' of
the letter carriers to meet in Omaha. The
delegation will take with It advertising
matter and views of Omaha and will dis
tribute these , among the delegates, who
come from every part of the United States

do vigorous rooting for Omaha. St. Paul
ana Atlantic City are known ta be actively
In the race as competitors of Omaha In
getting the convention.
The delegates believe that with any de
gree of support they will be able' to secure
this convention for Omaha.
The convention at Canton Is to be one
of the most Important ever held. The ques
tions wnicn are. to come up there pertain
to bettering tha service In every way. The
question of parcels post and postal savings
banks will be taken up and thoroughly
discussed at the convention.
. Letter carriers' salaries will be consid
ered. Action will be taken to get a per
manent salary bill. Under the present
system It Is necessary to have the salaries
Of the carriers psssed upon at each .-
slon of congress, thug necessitating keep
ing an aye on the appropriation commit
tees at each session.
Practically all the funds for booming the
Omaha convention el'.y have come from
the carrier. There were a few small
private subscription. There being no fund
available In the Commercial club the car
riers received no aid from that source.
