ConsidTahlp difference of optnlon Is pn.""1 hy Swx1s In Omaha rpg-ardlna: the prohnble effort of the new Information bureau established In the United States hy order of King Oscar of Sweden, whose purpose Is to Induce Swedes to return to their native land. This bureau Is of official character, al though backed by private Individuals In Sweden. Sweden Is experiencing the ef fect of the la rite emigration which has taken place In recent years and thers Is n unsatisfied demand for laborers, not only thone In the trades, but for unskilled and agricultural labor. As a result of this condition nn emigration lnrstlgatlon com mittee was fornud at Stockholm and the government now requests Swedish news papers In the United States and Swedish consuls and others to give the widest pub licity to the work of the committee. It particularly desires to know the condition of the Swedes In America, what prompted them to leave their native land and their present family relations both In Sweden and the t'nited Slates. The committee re quests all Swedes to supply this Informa tion, giving nnm-s and dates regarding themselves and to send this Information to the Hoyal Swedish consulate, 17 State street, New York City, before October 1. Iteturn to the alve l.nnd. The reported Intention of the committee Is to have ns many Swedes who are not atlsfled with their conditions In America return to their native land and resume their former allegiance. Speaking of this desire and the request lor Information, N. P. Swanson. who has recently recurned from a trip to Sweden, (Id: "I do not think any attempt to attract Swedes from America will succeed. Many of the Immigrants came here when they were young and while theyymalntaln tho use of their native languuge,he1r customs are American and they can no more adapt themselves to Swedish ways than can any person foreign to tho "soil. Tho greatest cause for Immigration Is Industrial. It Is al most Impossible for people to secure laud In Swaden. This land is held by owners of large estates and Is not for sale. Tenants may prosper, even grow rich, but the knowledge that they cannot really own their home detracts from their practical loyalty to the country and they do not feel they are sacrificing as much In leaving their native land as they would If It were prac tically possible for them to own a portion of It. Conditions in Sweden are Improving, but It will be many years before the coun try will be as attractive to wage earners or persons In moderato circumstances as In America." - Another View of It. John Hendrlckson, 3032 California street, whs of a different opinion: "I think the movement will meet with a considerable degree of success. Sweden Is 'booming' and there Is a comparatively largo number of people, who have returned from the United States and have made more money In Sweden than they could have made hero. Right now I recall a party which spent a few years in Alaska. They returned to their homes In northern Ttn CAMPBELL'S SOIL CULTURE MANUAL I Tells all about Dry Fann in. la.DOkTBail. Much to the surprise of the native they found It. There are many avenues to success for the man who takes American methods to Sweden and the people behind the present movement know It. America Is a grand country, but the Bwedlsh-Amerlran In Sweden will have a better chance for suc cess In many lines than he has here." J. D. Nelson of Kansas City said, who Is In Omaha: "This new movement will amount to little. My father-in-law was attracted by soma statement of the goed things at home.' He left America with the Intention of devoting two months to an Investigation of the conditions and In six weeks he was back on his Iowa farm. I can recall a number Of such cases, but few where per sons stayed In Sweden after spending a number of years In America."
