One of the most Interesting announce
ments made to society this season was that
of the engagement of Mr. Frsnk Hamilton
and Miss Ixnilsa de Clstue of Uranada.
Spain, who has been the guest of Mlf
May Hamilton since her rettirn from abroad
several weeks ago. The announcement was
made by Mrs. T. B. Cuming. Mr. Ham
ilton's aunt, at a luncheon given at the
Country club Wednesday by the M'sscs
Hamilton In honor of Mrs C. Will Ham
ilton, who leaves this week with her fam
ily for a year's sojourn abroad. Mr. Ham
ilton, who Is one of the heat known so
cletj and club men In town, has long been
counted a confirmed bachelor and some
little romance attaches to his engagement.
It was during his trip abroad a few months
ago that he met Miss de Clstue In Homo,
she and Miss May Hamilton having met
previously In Paris. When Miss Hamilton
returned from abroad she brought Miss de
Clstue with her and during the past few
weeks she has been guest of honor at a
continuous ro.ind of entertainment. Miss
de Clsliie, a countess In her own right. Is
a young woman of much personal charm.
She speaks Encltsh and French fluently In
addition to her own language and this Is her
second visit to America. While no definite
announcement has been made, regarding
the wedding it Is understood by closer
friends that 1t will take place In the near
future fit the home of Mrs. Phoebe Hearst
In California.
