The break In wheat ocurrej during th4
final half hour of trading and waa partly
due to selling; caused by a report of a St:
Louis trade journal giving a bearish esti
mate on the amount of wheat that will be
harvested m seven of the winter wheat
states. Prior to the appearance of thla re
port sentiment In the pit had been bullish
and prices had ranged considerably above
the close of Wednesday. HlRher prlcea at

and continued wet weather In France and

strength which prevailed during the greater

High temperatures have prevailed through
out the central valley during th past
forty-eigbt hours, and warmer weather
la extending eastward. Temperatures well
up In the nineties were general throughout
the central valleys during Wednesday, and
were 10 or above at points In eastern
Nebraska and western Iowa during Thurs
day. The highest recorded at Omaha on
the Fourth was 96 degrees. The weather
Is cooler In the west and northwest, and
will be cooler In this vicinity tonight.
Shower occurred In the exreme upper Mis
sissippi and Missouri valley Thursday,
Th weather Is generally clear west of th
Mississippi rlvsr and will probably con
tinue fair In thla vicinity tonight and
Saturday.

and Southern Paritlo stock. These threat
ened offsets to the Improvement of the
week in the banking position wer not

of the stoek movement, although opinion
based on them were heard In banking quar
ter of skepticism over the capacity of
