Dealings were largely congested In a few of the usual favorite stocks and were called profes sional by th professed opinion about the Btock exchange itself. - There was little new bearing on tha movement beyond the estimates of a large gain In cash for the week by the banks. Ac credited authorities varied quite widely In the estimate, apparently because of con fusion la accounting for the Sl.Oo0.0no gold export to Holland. Th re demptlon of these bond la proceeding much more slowly even then was anticipated ana It now seems evident that only a small proportion of the t-la.000.000 outstanding at the date of maturity would have been pre. tented for redemption by July 10. Thl latter I the date for the return of S30.0OO.OOO of government deposits held by the bajik and which was timed to take advantage of th expected balancing of the operation by the redemptions. A recovery in foreign exchange rate today served lo call at tention to the possibility of renewed de mand, from abroad for our gold supplies. London sent some gold to Paris today, but International exchange bankers in New York would not be surprised to see more go from hers to Paris next week. There were transfers today through the sub treasury of imO.OOA to Pan Francisco. - Th admission to trading at th Stock exchange of warrants for the new Atchlsin convertible bonds calls attention to the fact that 17,800.000 Is payable as a first Installment of subscriptions to these bonds by July 10 In addition to coming subscrip tions for Installment of Oreat Northern preferred, Union Pacific convertible ,bond and Southern Paritlo stock. These threat ened offsets to the Improvement of the week in the banking position wer not taken mueh account of In th active -circle of the stoek movement, although opinion based on them were heard In banking quar ter of skepticism over the capacity of th money supplies to finance any consider able speculative movement In stocks.
