GAUTS FROM ONE TO THREE POINTS I.arae t'nlla of Kurone for Ciold Are Ignored tr 'peculators Crop News Is Good and Close Is Strong; and Active. NEW TORK, June 26. The stock ket was taken in hand today with vigor and determination than for mar more some time past. The Initiative was suppose 1 to be largely professional, but the ai'iear ance of confidence, even among i r f es slonal operators, was a distinct chant" from the recent profound aputhy of the market. Rumor was busy with probable origin of the suddenly developed actlvltv, and while the Individual or group varied In the different surmises, there was gen eral agreement In the rumors pointing to organized professional operations as con cerned In the upward movement of prices. The movement win based ob viously on the almost total ubs-nce of selling pressure In the market for sev eral days past, notwithstanding some ui an uniavnranie character. The market as a whole, how ever, was not to the liking of sellers, the trade being slow and the tendency lower. Beet steers made up the greater part of the receipts and the market on that kind was alow and weak right from the start. Packers were talking that the hot weather and the supply of cheap southern beef has reduced the demand for high priced beef to such an extent that the eastern markets are breaking. That waa their excuse or explanation (or the bearish attitude this morning. As usual unoer sucn conditions there were cases whsre sellers who just happened to have something that seemed especially fit into an order got out to pretty good advantage, In other words sold at steady prices. On the other hand there were a good many of the cattle that had to sell fully 10c lower than yes terday. There was no especial cnange in tne cow situation. Receipts were light and so waa the demand and the movement waa slow Irom start to finish. There' waa quite a sprinkling or stock ers and feeders in the yards ana while the best feeders sold at about steady prices the tendency waa lower on the light stock ers.
