Joint suit asking Mm to enjoin the en
forcement of tbeae new law, the attor
neys were holding a conference over a new

circuit courts, both In Kansas Ctty and Pt
Loula, had, upon petition of Attorney Gen
rai Hadley. Issued an injunction against
the rat! wart, compelling them to obey the
lawn. The suit mere filed In Kansas City
by James C Kennish, assistant attorney
general, and ic Bt. Louis ly Mr Hadley.

When the rail m ay attorneys finally came
to the federal court their suit mas post
poned by Judge McPharmon until tomor
row. The railway attorneys urged a post
ponement of the case for ten days or two
weeks but this Judge McFhereon refused.
Tester-day the Judge had Issued an order,
upon request of the rr al roads, restraining
the complainants from putting Into effect
and complying with the laws, and today,
when the con, plication In the circuit

day. In the minds of the railway agent, j
as to what rates they should charge, and ,
among th railway counsel as to which j
court bad the proper Jurisdiction, and j
which should be respected. The rallmsys
ultimately respected the order of Judge
1! cPherson, and did not comply with th
new lawa.
