eral years. The asphalt paving of Farnam
street will b started within two weeka,

1 engineer's ofllce. The projected Improve
ment of Farnam street has caused prop
erty owners on Douglaa street to start a
movement for the repaying of that thor
oughfare. A representative of a number of larg
property owners was at the city engineer's
office Tuesday morning and secured an
estimate of the cost of charges contem
plated. According to his statement the
j plun Is to pave with asphalt sixty feet
i oi ine street and to pave that portion be
tween the asphalt and the curb with brick
blocks, so thot the pavement will be pro
tected from the ffet of horses, many of
whom are left standing on hat street for
hours. The general plan will be that used

of the Improvement, which will be from
Ninth street to Sixteenth street, will be

surgeon of Chlrago, will attend the com
mencement exercises of the College of Med
icine of the University of Nebraska Thurs
day evening, at 8 o'clock, at the Congre

streets. Special clinics are to be held
Thursday morning and the annual alumni
luncheon and reception to seniors will be
held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at tho
Chesapeake, 1510 Howard street, to be fol
lowed by the annual business meeting of

the administering of the Hlppocratlc oath
and the presentation of the candidates will
