a Bee want ad.
Tho verdure-clad maiden, abducted and

parents Thursday morning.
Wednesday when, amid the snow and th
cold nTth wind, hope was at Its lowest ebb
and many believed Gentle Spring had met
with foul "p'ny. It was decided to try one
of the famous lice want ails. Some thought
this could do no good. They admitted that

Spring, they eald, was clearly a caae for

ands of friends throughout the state.
The child looks no worse for her adven

void and of no effect by reason of weather
conditions.

tive committee of ministerial education and
relief of ' the Presbyterian church ln tha
United States todwy Issued the annual
statement for the last year. It will be pre
sented to the general conference of tha
Presbyterian church, which meets ln Bir
mingham today. The statement saya ln
part:
"Stme time ago Mr. Hugh T. Inman of
Atlanta promised to give $100,000 to the en
dowment fund of ministerial relief for aged
ministers and the widow and orphans of
our deceased mlnlatem, on condition that
$125,000 be raised by the whole church.
"All of this money has now been raised
with the exception of $9,000 and Mr. Inman
has paid VAO0O t the amount promised.
This now gives an endowment of $190,000,
with a sufficient amount pledged to make
the total $:0.000.
"Two hundred and twetity-threft young
men have been assisted this year In their
preparation for the work of the ministry.
"Altogether, $253,820 has been handled dur
ing the year by the committee, of which!
Mr. John btltes of Louisville Is treasurer.
"This breaks all records In the history of
tha church.
"The general assembly, to which the com
mittee reports, will probably order tha

Emma Kaufmann. who Is charged with
the murder of Miss Agnes Polrels. a 16-year-old
girl who was employed by her
as a domestic, would he called In tha
state circuit court In this city.
It has now been determined that the case
will be called In the circuit court on Mon
day of next week. It Is practically certain
that Judge Frank R. Alkens, attorney for
Mrs. KaufnitMin, when the case la called
for trial will make the application for a
change of venue. Sanford Cochran and
George. B. Egan, attorneys of Logai), la.,
who hav been retained to assist tha
prosecution, will arrive ln Sioux Falls
this week snd will remain here until tha
matter of the motion for a change of venue
Is decided, or through the trial should the
