TWO MEN ARE LAID AT REST

The body of Colonel B. D. Crary, whose
death occurred at Beaumont Tex., last
week, was laid to rest In Forest Laws
cemetery at a private funeral at ( o'clock
Tuesday afternoon. Rev. John Williams,
pastor of Bt Barnabas' Episcopal church,
conducted the services, which were held
at the residence, 2166 Harney strost The
pallbearers were all members of the family.
Colonel Crary was 89 years of age and
was one of the pioneers of the west, en
gaging In many of the dangerous enter
prises of the Indian days. He was con
nected In many ventures with several of
Omaha's most prominent men during pio
neer times.
The funeral of Charles W. Wedell wag
held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, serv
ices being spoken at the family residence,
1128 Sherman avenue. Interment was at
Forest Lawn cemetery. Mr. Wedell was ft
member of the tailoring firm of Kervan
Wedell, 1308 Farnam street, and was M
years old at th time of hta death, lis wag
found dead late Saturday evening by his
wife, lying on the bed 1n his room.

MANISTEE, Mich., April 23. The wooden
lumber barge Arcadia, which left this port
April 12 for Two Rivers with a cargo of
hardwood, has undoubtedly been lost In
I-tke Michigan with Its captain and owner,
Harry May, his wife and a woman cok unl
a crew of about eleven men. Marine men
here would not lie surprised to hear that
Its wreck was caused by a boiler explo
sion. Some hold the theory that It went
down as the result of the storm of April 11
Wreckage has been found along ths
beach from Pentwater north to Little Po nt
Bauble and part of It has 1, en Identified as
the cargo of the lost craft. Portions of Its
cabins and bulwarks have also been fjund
on tlie bt-ach near Pentwater.
