If the final reports of the railroads on
passenger earnings are In line . with tha
preliminary reports which have been re
ceived the railroads. It appears, will have
their hands full If they undertake to try
to show that the 8-cent passenger rate In
Nebraska Is "confiscatory" or "noncom
pensatory" as they claimed In their argu
ments before ths legislative committees.

operated under the 3-cent passenger law,
the law having taken effect March 7. Tha

of ths matter, say this may bs brought
about by ths exceptionally heavy colonist

crease week by week and there has been

The Burlington reports that It has had

the increased business becsuse of the 3-

ings for March are not complete for this
road, consequently the officials say they
