The sore itself is simply an outside evidence of some internal poison, and the only way to cure it is to remove the deep underlying; cause. Sores and Ulcers originate usually from a retention in the system of bodily waste matters and impurities. These should pass off through the natural avenues of waste, but because of a sluggish condition of the different members they are retained in the system to be taken up by the blood. This vital fluid soon becomes unhealthy or diseased, and the kin gives way in some weak place and a Sore or Ulcer is formed. The con stant drainage of impurities through ft sore causes it to fester, grow red and inflamed and eat deeper into the surrounding; flesh, and often there is severe pain and some discharge. S. S. "Th new arrangement of , th Burlington road In permitting cars to go off Its own lines to help th farmers of Nebraska In clearing up th grain of the state Is prov ing a blessing," said W. W. Johnson, as sistant general freight agent of th Burling ton, who returned Thursday from a trip In th stat. "The road Is hauling all th grain It can get cars for and ther Is a big tonnage ahead. Grain 1 not th only commodity we ar hauling, for th live stock- movement is about normal for this season of the year. "Th Burlington, is mors of a corn road than a wheat road and consequently we hav -not much to figure on for th com ing year, exoept that the ground Is' In ex cellent condition, a the corn has not yet been planted. . W also had large move ments of machinery and farm Implements, probably more than a year ago, which Is also another good token of prosperity," While the railroads are not saying much about th rat bill which Is now before the legislature, It Is known they are hard at work opposing It. Kansas did not pass any laws reducing freight rates and the railroads voluntarily reduced grain rates In Missouri 16 per cent before the legis lature got busy and was driven home by a smallpox scar at th capital. BOLL , WEEVIL IN EVIDENCE Government Expert Snys Pest Will Be Aetlve la Sooth This Season. BATON ROUGE. La.. March .-The cot ton boll weevlll will be unusually active and destructive this year, according to a report by Dr. W. D. Hunter, In charge of the boll weevil Investigation for the United States Department of Agriculture. He says the conditions throughout the last winter have been favorable for the hibernation of the boll weevil. The two critical conditions for hibernation, temperature and dryness, have been ss favorable as they probably ever will be. The mild winter and spring Is having the effect of causing an unusually early emer gence. t The . conditions Indicate clearly that weevils will be unusually abundant In the cotton fields and that great damage Is to be expected. Boms conditions that may occur will have the effect of counteracting the natural result from th present condi tions. For Instsnce, dry weather during Jun and July, after the cotton plants are well stsrted, will scrvs to caeck the insect.
