On the opening there were not very many beef steer in sight. In fact, good cornfed steers were scarce, but there was quite a large sprinkling of half fat and Inferior grades. The good kinds were steady with yesterday, with other grades weak. In fact, the tendency was easier on anything that was not desirable In the eyes of buyers. Cows and heifers were In large supply, but there was also a fair demand. On the opening a good many cows sold at prices that looked about steady, but the feeling wa weak and the tendency was easier on anything excepting the better grades. The very fact that receipts were liberal made buyer naturally a little bear ish, so that a good many of them ware bidding lower and It took a good deal of work to get them up to steady prroes. The market on stocker ana- feeder was In tha same condition as yesterday. Buy ers were all hungry for supplies and were out early, so that the market became active at prlcea still stronger than those which prevailed yesteraay. 1 ne oneringa 01 an desirable kinds of feeders were very quickly taken. It would be hard work to Imagine anyuung in a mure iieaitny condi tion than the feeder market at the present time. Representative sales: BEEF STEERS. Av.
