There was general talk among the birds and beasts that Humblrd was putting1 on alra A deep laid plot was arranged for Humblrd. That plot was carried out Thurs day. It had been the custom for Hum- bird when taking his afternoon 'Bleep to doze with one eye open. Thursday after noon he forgot to close his left eye. Sweet Marie noticed that and whispered over to the hedgehog, asking for advice. Soak htm one," replied the hedgehog. It did not sound like that, but that was what the hedgehog meant. Sweet Marie raised her right front paw and brought it down on Humblrd's shoul der, with the remark in bear talk, "That for you!" The hedgehog passed the word down the line and Immediately there was general commotion in the cages and houses. Keeper Anderson rushed over to Humblrd's house and quickly took the wounded bear away.
