With the superintendent of the Lincoln division having supervision over SOO miles of track he did not havo much time to look ufter tho details of the Omaha terminal. More Trains and JifW Time. Burt, former president of the I'nlon Pacific, arrived in Oiuaha Friday from Chicago. lie was met at Union sta tion by It. 14. Schneider of Fremont, and the two went to Fremont. Mr. Burt returned to Chicago In the afternoon. It is a ktrange conlcidtnt that Mr. Burt, by the recent ascendancy of E. 1L Harrl- Iikan over Sluyvesant Fish, finds himself back In the Hariiman employ. Mr. Burt hHd assumed the task of perflating the Illinois Central's vast syutem of Improve ments In the gulf country and soon after wurd Mr. Harrinian computed his scheme of wresting control of that railroad from the r'lh regime. Local railroad men and others who re member the friction between Burt and llarrluian, arising from the shops strike of 19i-U4 and which resulted In the reslgna tlon of Burt as president of the I'nlon Pacific, find much food for reflection In the renewed association and are wonder lag If it will be permanent or endure as long as the Fish-Burt contract called for. office authorities, and pending the disposi tion of the case In the federal court the mall is allowed to accumulate In the care of tho postmaster at Omaha. He came to Omaha Friday morning to get $100 that he might get $1,000,000. The latter amount is represented by a miss who lives with her mamma and papa out where tho corn tassels blow and tho bins are bulging with their wealth. The young woman has many personal charms, while her papa has many coins of tho kingdom of Qulvera. During the last Ak-Sar-Ben season tho young man In the case parted with $100 In the chief city of Cibola and returned to the school room and his million-dollar Idol. A few weeks ago tho young man offered his hand and heart and was accepted con aitionauy, namely, tnat no earn in some manner between Christmas and New Tear's day $100.
