Fort Omaha for practice purposes. These
field wireless outfits will be portable and
can be carried on a pack mule and set up
In a moment or two. They will have an
effective operation of about ten miles,
which Is regarded as sufficient for field
service. The new system adapted specially
for army purposes Is being practiced a
Fort Riley now. with considerable success.
Arrangements are also being made for tha
Installation of a war balloon experimental
service at Fort Omaha and for the manu
facture of hydrogen gas for the Inflation
of the experimental balloons."

cate the restraining order tn . the case of
the J. E. Woodard Coal company against
the Burlington. The motion to vacate was
filed by the Burlington, In which motion it
Is alleged that the defendant company la
complying with all the terms of Its con
tract In shipping coal of the defendants
from Diets, Wyo., to Billings, Mont., and
that the coal so shipped Is the property of
the Sheridan Clal company. The plain
tiffs claim that the purpose of the de
fendants In confiscating Its coal Is to
prevent the plaintiffs from Increasing Its
business.

The occasion at Papplo View was one to
be remembered in the Hoape and Zltsman
households. The baptismal ceremony was
witnessed by grandparents and grsat
grandparents, and after It came a Christ
mas dinner. In the mldat of the spacious
dining room stood a beautiful Christmas
tree, laden with presents for' the baby.

authority for the statement that the Illinois
Central Is not seeking to make any addi
tion to Its realty holdings near Its freight
depot, Just south of the Union Padflo
shops. He said some lots which th com
pany tried to buy years ago had been of
fered for sale recently, but the company
had refused to buy A month or so ago
there was a flurry In the local real eatat
world by ti e rumor that the Illinois Central
was tryir.g to buy an entire block.

Detectives Davis and Pattulla arrested
Lem Zimmerman, early Wednesday morn
ing upon receipt of a - telegram
from the police authorities at Fargo,
N. D., stating that Zimmerman
was a fugitive from Justice, but did
not Indicate the offense with which ha Is
charged of having committed. Zimmerman
said hla home was at La more, N. D., and
was arrested at the home of his sister, ;
