The test of the device was made at La
riatte several miles south of the city on
tho Burlington railroad. Assistant Post
master Woodard and several of the local '
railway mall officials went down to witness
the test, which Is ' pronounced . by the
Omaha parties a big success. . .
The committee arrived here from At
lantic, la., where It made a test of anolhrr
device last week, the patient of a resident
of that city, and will proceed from Omaha
to Denver, where It will examine and test
snother device of a like character lnvente.1

berg a "flower album," containing a "lily
from Gethsemane," . "rose of Sharon" and
many other pressed blossoms allegrd to
have grown on sacred ground. Euolused
was a request for $1 to pay tor the flower
album. The business man had never heard
of Mr. Llnenberg, he did not enre for the
flowers and he paid no attention to the

County Judge Leslie Monday turned over
to the county treasurer $3,320 representing
the excess earnings of the office for the
year up to the present. It is customary
to hold the excess fees until Jsnuary 1,
when they are all turned over together.
Usually the excess fees for the entire year
amount only to $900. This year it Is be
lieved they will amount lo over $5,000 owing
to the policy of collecting filing fees In
The fees were turned over at this time
In order that they might be devoted to the
payment of claims against the county
under the cash payment plan adopted by
the present board of commissioners.
