Is planned by the two' local lodges of B'nal B'rith. Joint commit tees appointed by William McKlnley lodge and Nebraska lodge reported Sunday, and as a result a mass meeting of cttlxens in terested will bs held next Sunday evening at some place not yet decided upon. The movement was originally started for the purpose of providing a mission school for the poorer classes of Jewish children In the lower wards. It has been broad ened until now It contemplates night school for adulti as well, where the emi grants can learn English and the principles of American cltlsenahlp. In the school for children ths rudiments of Hebrew, In addition to other subjects, will be taught. It is also proposed now; to provide a place for tha various Hebrew societies of ths city to meet. By charging a rental for tha use of the rooms the Institute could be made at least partially self-sustaining. Since the proposition was announced It has met with hearty support and many pledges of financial aid bays been made. At the meeting Sunday night several prominent speakers will discuss the project and plans will be presented for-carrying It out. The report shows the number of miles operated as 4.374.04. The gross receipts from traffic were $51. 636.405.18 and the expenses of operation were $33,302,476 67, with tsxes paid amounting to $2,1S4,!M.24. The net Income from traffic was $5.1t,935.$5. The net Income over ex penses of operation and taxes was fl$,4M, 924.36. At the close of the year there were in service 677.43 miles of second track and 7J..'5 miles or third track and other addition 1 main tracks, making together 749.99 miles, being 9 CI miles mors than last year. To complete the double track from Jackson, Miss., to New Orleans, a dlstsnce of 1M miles, requires 10.5$ miles yet te be put la service.
