President Westerdahl and Member Shu gart, at the meeting of the Board of Edu cation last night, forestalled any action looking toward replacing th Bell tele phone In th high school and superin tendent' office, which had been taken out and replaced as In all the other school building by 'phone of the Independent company. The matter was brought- up by a com munication from th Nebraska Telephone company offering to place it 'phone in j the schools at II a month, which 1 to cents month less than' iha board had been paying before and which Is half of the business 'phone ratea charged by the company. The communication -was -re- ferred to the committee on buildings and grounds, of which Member Shugart la chairman.
