put any damper on plans for building.
Those of the srchltects who are not
actively engaged on the large buildings ar
busy with plans for flats and residences,
a number of which hr just been an
nounced. James Cosgrov will erect a row ol
three-story, pressed brick list' at Twent
third street and Capitol avenue.

to be erected at Sixteenth and Sprues

Commissioner John M. Guild of the Com
mercial club sent a telegram Tuesday ' to .
Edward Krause, grand worthy president
of the Eagles, extending an Invitation to
that organisation to hold Its annual con
vention next summer In Omaha.' provided .
the question of location was raised at the
meeting of the board of grand trustees,
which convened In Louisville Monday.
The telegram was sent st the request' of
the Eagles of Omsha. for whom John J. '
Ryder acted aa spokesman.' Mr. Ryder-1
said that tn view of th fact that some
complaint had been made against Norfolk,
which was selected for the next convention,
he had been writing to . the officers of the '
organisation in the hope of getting the
meeting foe Omaha, which local Eagles
agree would have been the choice In the '
last convention had It not been for a par
liamentary trick which gave Norfolk the
honor on the first ballot. To the national
officers Mr. Ryder suggested thst Norfolk
would be crowded next summer with ex
position visitors and It would be unseemly
for the Eagles to be made the tall of the
exposition kite; also that mid-August,
weather In Norfolk Is unpleasantly hot.
Mr. Ryder was Informed that the matter
of re-locating the. meeting was to be con
sidered at the meeting Monday.
