It was estimated that there were consid erably over 100 cars of she stock on sale, with auch free offerings buyer were nat urally alow In getting started and were very much disposed to 'take their time in filling orders. Hence cows and heifers were alow to 10c lower than last week's cloae with the prospect that some kinds might wind up even lower than that. After their experience of last week spec ulators and yard traders were not as strong buvera of Blockers and feeder as they might have been. The large recelpta also weakened them still further. The result waa that feeders sold anywhere from a ahade to 10o lower. Light stockera were especially alow, the country demand for thnt kind of cattle being Very poor. As usual when the receipt are liberal the market aa a whole was In very satlafactory condition. There was considerable sorting to be done and It was a little late before the receipts were ready to be shown. When the stuff was -shaped up the market opened strong and active and the desir able kinds of both sheep and lambs sold very readily. Packers all seemed to want supplies and they bought freely of the kinds that they could use. There were lambs good enough to bring 17.26 and wethers with some ewes on them sold up to 16 36. The barn was full of feeder buyers and the trade on that kind was also strong and active, the offerings being cleaned up about as fast as they could be put In shape. The only kind of stuff that was slow sale was the betwixt and between lambs, that Is the kind that was most too good for feeder and hardly geod enough for killers.
