Soma liquidation, la September caused
wheat prices to sell off about He early,
hut, aa trad, wai light, this waa partially
recovered later on the strength of a light
demand by short. Later price went o
IU)W yesterday. Clear weather In the
northwest, favorable European crop new
and luwer cable ware bearish feature.
Against theee frt' a better cash demand
and aii.aaw receipt. No new bualnes wa
don at the Seaboard and bid are Utl
out of line.
Kavoraui rrop news and larger receipt
raueed a 1 weakness In oorn, though the
range ot .Value waa very narrow. ' Ac-
.,.crf n uin tne country are more
numerous and Omaha grain houe iiave
made larg sales to Chicago In the laat
tw j day.,. Closing price were at the-low
point for the day, and were Ho below
yesterday.- ',
Primary wheat receipt were 466,000 bush
el utid ahlpinant l.t.uuO buahtla, against
receipt., last year of 873,000 buhl and
Shipments of 4U.0U0 bushel. Corn receipts
were Sai.OCO bushel and shipments W
bushels, agalnat receipt laat year of ITtl.OuO
bushel and -shipment ot ITt.voO bushel.
Clearance were 7twJ,0uo bushels wheal, IS.OU)
barrel fltur, 6,000 bushels corn and 700
bushel -eat. ' ' - .
Liverpool closed fcd lower on wheat and
unchat.ged to Hd higher on corn.
W. H flattlett wired W. C. Bunderlnnd:
"Difference between May oata and May
corn 1 only about ilc a bushel, which ia
unusually small. It would b reasonable to
expect a difference of 13c or 14c a bushel.
The Iowa' and -northwestern oat crop r
very large and Juet commencing to move.
Movement hna been delayed by wet weather.
T'ie export demand amount to nothing
and the domestic demand la moderate. Can
see nothing on which to bull oat. Believe
they could go down several cent a bushel
and corn stay where It t. But I believe,
with a continuation of thia weather for
two week, w will raise the largeat crop
of corn w hav ever raised, and Way corn
will sell several cent a bushel lower than
now."

CATTLE Recelots of cattle were not
very larg this morning, although ther

total receipt for th week to' date show a
fair gain -over th previous week and over
a year ago.
The market on corn-fed steers waa fully
steady this morning and desirable oattl
ot that description wer In vary fair de

caul ou sals aa there wer early tn the
week, so that the eales do not show up
as high on paper. Th fact I, the market
on cern-fed cattle haa been in very satis
factory condition all this week. Ther wer
among the offering a very considerable
sprinkling of weatern beeves, but th mar
ket was, ror aome reason or otner, alow
and dull and It wa lat before buyers and
sellers finally got together on a trading
basis.
Cows and heifers were In moderate de
