neral of Charles Oagnon, who died aa th
result of falling down stairs, took place
Tuesday at 11:90 a. m. Rev. Sproll of th
Cat hollo church of this city officiated. Mr.
Gegoon. was a Frenchman, having mi
grated to America from Canada over half
a century ago. Ha . and James Hosford
formed a partnership nearly half a century
ago. This partnership waa never broken up
to tha death of Mr. Oagnon and con
fidence In each other's, faithfulness to
the bast Interest of th' company wa
never questioned. They freighted s cross
th 'plains' together several -years. ' The
Indiana robbed thea of BOO head of cattle
and they Sued th, United State govern
ment and th litigation lasted over one
fourth of a century, when they finally won,
Mr. Wagner waa not allowed any damage

a month ago an old German, by the
nam of Adam Bohn, died and on hla person
was found $1,690 In cash. Dr. Brttt was
called and pronounced that death was du
to starvation. - Adam Bohn waa a strange
character and at his death ha had thirteen
guns and revolvers, som of which were
of th latest and best makes. John Bohn,
his son, remained In charge of th buildings
and farm of hla father and now he reports
having found two cigar boxes full of money,
In all about $1,000 or 12,690.

Telegram.) Ryan, Martin and Wade, th
three alleged burglars awaiting trial here,
showed their violent dislike for Imprison
ment by breaking out of th county Jail
at an early hour this morning.
Th escape waa accomplished In a most
artistic manner, th trio having worked
on it for a month. A case knife mad Into
a saw .cut' a twelve-inch squar through
the 'half-inch bars of the cage and the
wire oft a bucket served to make a hole
through th solid brick wall of th jail.

My Dear Sir: I am In receipt of yours
of the 9th Inatant and contents fully
noted. I cannot tell you how disappointed
w all are at the situation In your state.
It seems almost criminal that after such
a victory the fruits of it should be jeopard
ised by the ambitions of any candidate.
So It seems to m that the time is near at
hand when som one must rise to the
emergency of the situation and And a way
out of the trouble. The president talks
with me every day about it end I need
not say Is very anxious that something b
done. I have avoided doing anything that
would make any trouble or cause any
criticism from any of the candidates. Mr.
Payne and I have suggested one more ef
fort at a caucus, on the two-third plan.

was not suggested to Mr. Schneider, nor
do I want to propose It If It would cause
any bad feeling. I have suggested no
names to any one aa compromise candi
date. But I do say that if you can be the
means of solving this question it will give
you a position and prestige in the party
which does not often - fall to th lot of a
man In politic.
Knowing as you do th Interest I took in
the campaign in your atate In both presi
dential campaigns, you will appreciate how
anxious I am on this subject, and, know
ing you as I do. I do not hesitate to ask
you to make a personal sacrifice to end this

Andreas, at her home five miles west ot
town, Sunday rooming about 6:30 o'clock.
Death was caused by cerebral hemerrhiige.
Mrs. Andreas had been ailing for some
time, but her condition waa not ressirdod
a such as to cause alarm. She waa born
