several points in the National league race
by winning two game from Boston today.
The score of the first game wag 3 to 0,
that of the second 7 to S. Errors were re
sponsible for all of the visitors' runs In
the earlier contest. Beaumont's catch of
a ball close to the ground prevented the
home team from scoring at least two runs.
Boston plaers continued to make mis
plays during the second game and the
.visitors soon acquired a commanding lend.

CHICAGO. Aug. . The Marshall Field
cup was won for the second time by the
Onwenteia team in the annual tournament
over the Onwentsia golf course today.
Exmoor, aided by the Kgans, finished sec
ond. During the play H. Chandler Egan,
former national amateur champion,
quailed the -hole record of the course
with 150 strokes.
The plavers on the winning team were:
D. R. Forgan. R. H. M. Klwee. W E.
Clow. Jr.; B. D. Smith and Alden Swift.
Nine teams took part In the play On
wentsia. Exmoor. T.ake Geneva, Midlo
thian. Homewnod. Westward Ho, Skokie,

Play for the Mayflower cup, which takes
the place of the Ravinoaks cup won last
year by H. C. Egan. begins tomorrow, with
a qualifying round of thirty-six holes.
