It was weed night at the Druid Hill Im provement club Monday night, when soma thirty members talked of the weed nui sance. Councilman Bedford, who was pres ent, said the city had fourteen prisoners out cutting weeds snd five men serving notices on property owners to cut the weeds on their premises. He said there was a very simply remedy for the weed nuisance that the improvement clubs should all take up next year and that was alfalfa. He said plant alfalfa on all vacant lots and It would kill all the weeds. J. C. Lindsay, member of the Board of Education, gave the club assurance that an annex would be had for the school to accommodate the one section of the city In which race suicide was not prevalent. Mr. Bedford announced that the sewer propositions were well under wsy and that bids would be advertised for In the next thirty days. The use of the Inheritance road tax' to pave the old military road from Florence north to the county line received consid erable attention and a committee of four J. J. Smith. Jeff Bedford, J. C. Nickerson and E. L. Plats was appointed to co-operate with the people of Florence In secur ing the realisation of the plan.
