MASONS IN HURRY TO BUILD
Scottish Rltea aad Bhrlaers Vast to
Erect Temple la Fall
If Possible. ' '
Frequent meetings ara being held by the
building committee of the Scottish Rita Ma
sons and Bhriners with a view to pushing"
plans so that the temple at Twentieth and
Douglas streets may be erected this fall.
A report was circulated on tha streets to
the effect that the committee had decided
not to have any work done until spring,
but a member' of the committee said this ''
was untrue. '
"If wo can get plans completed In time, :
he said, "we will get the building up this -fall,
and toward that purpose we are bend- ''
Ing every energy. Of course. It Is very dif
ficult for an architect to devise plans which
will suit every member of such a large
committee, and frequent changes have to
be made on this account, so that progress
is slow, 1
''We are taking plans to select something
classic and unique, a distinctive '-type of
building that will advertise Omaha by be- '
Ing a point fit interest to every visitor, to-s
the city. We want something that every - .
citizen will take his friends to see and
something they will talk about when they
leave the city." .
The rough plans which have been drawn
are for a three-stoiy structure, about luOx,
110 feet. .. .
