sentenced prisoners were properly signed
by the mayor. One of these bore the sig
nature of Acting Mayor Johnson. What

OMAHA AND THE COMMISSION
Local Business Men Think Gate City
Slionld Have Interstate Com
merce Representative.
Why should Omaha not have a candidate
for a place on the Interstate Commerce
commission?
This is a question which arose at the
Omaha club Tuesday night and which be
came the subject of conversation. Since
Kansas City and other western towns have
put forward men for places on the com
mission, the club members did not see why
Omaha should not have a candidate, es
pecially since It boasts a number of men
said to be better qualified than some of the
present aspirants.
