The June bride promlaea to have a de
cided effect upon the social calendar next
month, notwithstanding the denlale of
several of the engaged ones that there
would be weddlnga before fall. The
very first week of June will bring four
weddlnga, every one of them of conae'
quence, becauae of the social prominence
of the families concerned. At least
three of these will be auiet affairs, but
no matter how quiet a wedding may be,
It doea not prevent the glven-ln-honor
affaire and with four weddlnga acheduled
within a fortnight thla week will cer
talnly provide something more than the
few things so far announced. Of course
there will be other brldea, too, but the
carda are not yet out and there are four
weeks in June.

The opening of the Country club
Wednesday la the conspicuous feature of
tbls week socially. There will be the
tournament In the afternoon, the table
d'hote dinner and the dance In the even
ing. That the attendance will be large
la assured by the fact that 108 have al
ready engaged places for dinner. Several
of these will, of course, be In parties.
The tardy completion of the decoration
cauaed many to fear that the opening
would have to be postponed again, but
the date la fixed this time.
The buaybodles are chatting Industri
ously of an engagement, which, they aay,
la to culminate In a very quiet wedding
about the middle of June, and an extended
trip abroad. The young woman la one
of Omaha's sweetest singers, who haa
apent considerable time In Chicago and

Colonel James H. Pottle, a director In
the "Brotherhood Wine Co." of New York,
reached Omaha yesterday and la busy
shaking handa with his numerous friends
and customers. Th genial colonel never
stores his cheerful disposition and alwaya
carries a good supply of the latest jokes
and stories, saying nothing about a trunk
full of the "Brotherhood Wine Co. 'a" fa
mous winea and liquors. His well known
house haa done business In Omaha for
more than a quarter of a century, and
through absolute purity of products and
the most honorable business methods, hus
built op a reputation of which It may well
be proud. Mr. B. R. Emerson, president

could produce winea and Uquors that could
not be surpassed by any foreign country.
Hla standard waa "Absolute purity of prod
ucts and a prompt redemption of every
