HARRISON & MORTON,
912-915 N. Y. LIFE TEL. 314
Wf have lecenlly been congratulated by some of our friends on one or two sales
we have mnde. We sold the Christian, Church corner, southwest corner lth and
Farnam, for SHiiOft, 90x1:15 feet. The Campbell corner, southwest corner 17th and
Dodge, lx1S2 feet, for $38,000. We have also Just resold thr. northeast corner of 24tli
and Harney, 54x142 feet, for $10,600. We have now tinder negotiation a sale a little
larger than any of these. While some of this properly lias been sold at nn advance
over what It could have. been bought for a few years ago, we do not regard these
sales as remarkable. In May, 1900. we bought for Mrs. Dtifrene $59,000 worth of
property on upper Farnam St., the southeast corner of 19th and Farnam, WxIC feel,
with three brick dwellings, for $21,000; R6Mi feet Just west of the Christian church prop
erty, with four frame houses, $18.noo; 33 feet next to the northeast corner of 2flth
and Farnam, with frame house, $0"0; Bxt32, next to the Dnvldgu block, vacant.
$14,000. Herman Knuntze, Mrs. Dufrene's adviser at that time, thought she made a
fairly good purchase. Her property !s now probably worth and would sell for
over double what she paid for It. We think her purchases at that time much more
remarkable, and showed more nerve than any recent ones.
The conditions In Omaha, by every standard of measurement or comparison, have
radically changed for the better since 1900. The business expansion In every line has
. been marked. Real estate ia the only thing that has lagged, or stood stationary.
Stimulated by undue speculation some of It may go too high, n The Bee has very
wisely warned the people, but In most cases, especially In the better clnss of busi
ness properly, we believe the normal value has not been reached. With the breaking
down of ninny other forma of Investment, real estate, the most solid of all, will be
come attractive.
Under the new ruling of the Real Estate exchange, only property of which the
agent has exclusive sale will be advertised. We are exclusive agents for the follow
ing, among others, and recommend the same:
DUNDEE
NEW 7-room, two-story square house on the east edge of Dundee; full cemented
basement, hollow brick walls; soft water In kitchen and laundry; atatonary wash
tubs, good closets, bed room walls tinted; south and east front corner lot 60x135
(room for another house fronting east), good trees; one block to Farnam car; no
city tax; built by owner for a home, but circumstances make it desirable for them
to make a change. A gem of a place, probably Just what you are looking for, and
you will be saved the trouble of building. $4,150.
A BARGAIN
An 8-room house, one block from Waltfut Hill car line; electric light, city water
and bath: oak finish; lot 50x150. with plenty of shade trees and small fruit; 4509
Seward St. Price only $2,200. Owner selling on account of change in position.
WHOLESALE
19Sxl32 feet, corner of 12th and Jackson across from the Garneau crackery factory.
Solid ground, suitable for largo wholesale concern. Will make a reasonable price on It.
WHOLESALE IMPROVED TRACKAGE
