lie informed the city clerk he was
lii rough with a desk loaned to him several
years sVo by the clerk, this being- the same
desk over which the judge has presided In
the attorney's office; also that the furniture
would be sent home within a day or two.
The report irot out that Judge Cockrell
had decided to transfer his headquarters
as claim agent to the city clerk's office,
but this statement was repudiated. The
, judge said, however, be would not annoy
', the legal department with his undesired
reeenoe, but would proceed to establish
,oa fustic court in room 441 Paaton block
until January 15. when he would go into
permanent quarters at 1601 Far nam street.
At the same time he wu careful to say
he had not abandoned his claims on the
place he has occupied on the city payroll
How he proposed to draw money on it he
did not make clear.
