As has been previously announced, the building will contain every modern equip ment for carrying on association work In addition to a completely equipped school of domestic science. Some of the most prominent workers In the national association will come to Omaha to assist In the building campaign and Miss Abby McEUoy. secretary of the Iowa association, will spend the entire month here. Mrs. Emma F. Byers, general secretary of the local osaoelatlon. will go to Chlcugo January 3 to attend a spncinl meeting of the American committee of the Young Women's Christian association and while there will conclude arrangements for the corps of assistants In the building cam paign Meet I ii a of Mark Importance. Incidentally this special meeting of the American committee la of much import ance. It having been called to consider the union of the two great national Young Women's Christian associations, the Amer ican committee and the International hoard, in one great association, such a, the Young Men's Christian association. At its annual convention held in Balti more in November the International board signified willingness for such a union snd some overtures to the American committee were made to this end. 8'jch a union will mean the reorganisa tion of the International board on the evangelical basis of the American commit, tee, this difference of basts .having been the chief difference in the Bast. The In ternational board has expressed its will ingness to reorganize and the American committee at Its meeting at Chicago next month will consider other phases of such a union. The problem of adopting the evangelical basis is the same which con fronted the local association until last spring, when It affiliated with the Ameri can committee. Previously It bad bn in dependent of either national organization and tho local workers ara gratified their action, which was micjudced by many at the time, should be justtlied by the action of the International beard, which now seeks to reorganise on the e van.; -Ileal basis by a vote of T to 7.
