la the newest and most complete product
of the Pullman shops. The train Is tlectrio
lighted throughout with the most complete
electric system. It consisted of seven cars.
Including Pullman drawing room and tour
ist alecplng cars, free reclining chair cars,
omposlto observation tars with buffet
smoking room ami dining cara.
This train will add much to the fine
aervlre on the Northwestern between
Onrnha ami Chicago, making good connec
tions at rech end of the run, and will leave
Omaha for the eaat at 11 p. m. daily. As
It pulled Into the t'nlon station on thin Us
Initial trip It carried a very distinguished
parly of mil road officials and newspaper
men, bosld"s nome regular travelers, in
cluding Senator Reed Smoot of Utah, who

western, accompanied the party to Omaha.

on west, looking after Its welfare from
Omaha to Los Angeles. Mr. Darlow. In
fact, fame out from Chicago, having gone
over ther Saturday night. The contingent
of newspaper men was the same as printed

cago to southern California, reached here
on time to the minute and Is filled with
pasaengera already. The run has been most

car ia crowded with sightseers. The T'nlon
Pacific has outdone itself In preparations
frr tha Initial run. A poll of passengers
aboard showed twenty-six states repre
sented, many of the passengers having
waited a week and more In order to be
on the Initial run- The eastern newspaper
men aboard are enjoying the finest trip of
their lhres and are pleasantly disappointed
at seeing country the equal In civilization
of the oldest sections of the road Instead
of frontier settlements, as some expected.

century president of the Nebraska Fuel
company, was laid to rest Monday after
noon at Forest Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Towle
and daughter arrived from the south early '
Monday morning with Ross Towle, who
met his mother and sister at Kansas City,
Rer. Newton Mann, minister of l.'nltv '
church, spoke of the dead citizen's busy
life and the fortitude with which he held
up during several years of affliction.
