It ia thought that tha recent decline In

from Argentina today waa a little mora
favorable.
Oata wera teady. December closed at

The world's ahlpmenta tf wheat were
1.1.812,000 buahela, against 13.680,000 bushels
last week and H,OM),ooO bushels last year.
Corn ahlpmenta were 3.493,000 buahela,
gainst 4,087,000 bushels last week.
Liverpool closed unchanged to 44 lower
on wheat and 40-4d lower on corn. Ar
gentina weather waa reported favorable
and Russian ahlpmenta wera heavy.
Primary wheat receipts were 1.745.000
bushels and ahlpmenta 466,000 bushels,
against receipts of 1.847,000 bushels last year
and ahlpmenta of 732,000 bushels. Primary
com receipts wera 89l,0u0 bushels and ship
ments 6Jo000 bushels, against receipts last
year of 831,000 bushel and shipments of
3S.0fl0 bushels. Clearances were 641,000
bushels of corn. 177,000 bushels of oats
471.000 bushels of wheat and 10,000 barrels
of flour.
The Increased buying of Manitoba wheat
last week by Europe and the large Inquiry
for the United States crop Indicate that
some of the European traders are fore
casting a bullish future. The season for
Manitoba wheat Is almost over, as far as
bike shipments are concerned, and another
week or ten days will see tha last of them.
The wheat is being sent to eastern lake
and seaboard ports, to bo held for future
disposition.
.lames I'otlen of Chicago ears be has
learned that twenty-elf; tit loads of corn
have been cancelled by Baltimore shippers
on agreement with foreign buyers. He
fears a dull corn market.

upon prices. There was a violent recovery

CATTLE The week
...6,279 4.648 10,354
opens with a mod-
erate run of cattle
up to noon about )u
bad been received, as
cars, or 4. wo head,
against 6,834 head last Monday and 6,836'
head on the corresponding Monday unx
rear ago. OI tha law van received today
ourteen of them weru shipped direct to
th packers. As a rulu the quality of the
offerings was not very good, but there
were a few ' loads of good cattle on the
market. ,
There were only one or two bunches of
f;ood cornfed cattle In the yards this morn
ng. There was a fairly good demand
from the packers, with the result that
prices held up steady to a little strong in
spots. Good choice stock found ready
aale at prices thai were a little stronger
than those at the close of business last
week.
There were only a few scattering loads
of cows and heifers on the market this
morning, while there was a moderate de
mand irom both tha packers and outside
buvera. Tuete was very little choice atuff
obtainable, and what there waa In found
ready tale at prices thai were gent-rally
steady with thoae al the close of luxt
week'a trading. ,
There was a fair supply of stockers and
feeders on the market this morning and
there waa a good demand from yard
speculators. There were quite a number
of country buyera In and they were looking
for desirable cattle. Light and medium
weight Btock seemed to have preference
ovei the heavy slock. Good light and
medium weight feeders sold at prices that
were generally a little stronger than at
Friday s close, while the heavy weights
were selling practically steady.

with the market strong to 10c higher in
most cases, ltmbs were also selling at
good, steady prices and In some cases
went nt prices that would Indicate that the
market on that kind of slock was about
lot- higher. However, generally speaking,
the market on fat lambs was steady to
strong.
There were n number of fending lambs
on the market this morning and the quality
wns generally pretty fair. There wete
quite a number of coulry buyers In today,
but they were Inclined to be rather par

However, In spite of this, the trading on
feeder sheep was reasonably active, with a
market Hint was practically steady with
