Sent. 12 A heavv movement of the crop in the northwest had a weaken ing influence on the wheat market here to day. Support from a lesdlng bull, how ever, prevented any material decline In values, the December option at the close being practlrally unrhanaed. compered with yesterday's final quotations. Closing prices for corn, osts and provisions also were almost Identical with thoe of yes terday. . The wheat market opened rather weak In response to the excellent harvest weather In the northwest. Opening quota tions on December were uncnanged to 0 lower at 8:tVp8Vc. A bearish effect throughout the entire session was the lib. eral movement of new. wheat In the north west. While local receipts were small the Inspection sheet showing onlv fifty-two cars against 257 a veer ago, arrivals today at Minneapolis and Duluth were 730 cars, compared with 414 cars last year. Of this total Duluth received 287 cars and of that number 150 cars were No. 1 and No. I northern or better. The effect of this In creased movement, however, was partially counteracted by an excellent demand from millers for cash wheat, both at northwest, ern and southwestern grain centers. The weather bureau report furnished some en couregement to bulls, the statistics show ing that threshing reports front North Da kota Indicated smaller yields than had been generally expected. Trices throughout the session ranged within narrow bounds, De cember selling between MVs'ft-tf'a.c and 83Sc The market closed barely steady with Ie cember at R34'B-Hc. Clearances of wheat and flour wera emial to 13,500 bu. Primary receipts were 868,000 bu.. compared with 891,000 bu. a year ago. The world's visible supply as shown by Bradstreets. Increased 451.000 bu. Minneapolis, Duluth and Chicago reported receipts of 7S2 cars, against 676 cars last week and 671 cars a year ago. Sentiment In the corn pit was a trifle bearish as a result of liberal local receipts. A decline ot 2c In the price of cash grain had a depressing effect on the value of options. Cash houses were tha main sellers, r Irm cables had a supporting Influence. The market closed steady. December opened a shade lower at 43c, sold between So and 4.Tc snd closed at 4-1'6Tc. Local receipts were 771 cars with 145 of contract grade. Oats were firm on a fair Investment de. mand resulting from the improved export business. December opened a shade lower to a shade higher at ilb'S:r., sold up to 27Hc and closed at W-Sfi'tjc. I-ocal receipts were 867 cars. Provisions were steady as a result of a considerable decrease In re ceipts of live hogs. Trading was very quiet. At the close January pork was off 2c at $12.30. Lard was up 2Vc at 86.85. Klbs were unchanged at 86.40. Estimated receipts for tomorrow: Wheat, 8S cars; corn, (Ot cars; oats, 272 cars; hogs, 24 001) head. The leading futures ranged as follows: Articles. Open. Hlgh. Low. Although there was a sharp break noted at all points last week, the market Is still In satisfactory condition and prices are still high. The bulk of the stuff ar rived early, but there was little done till well along In the forenoon, buyers hanging back and taking their time about picking tip any supplies. There was. however, little pear influence to the trade and prices on fat stuff held generally steady wltu yester days prices. There was a fairly good supply of feeder sheep and lambs here todny and there was the same good demnnd that has leen In force for some time. There are plenty of orders In the bnrn and buyers are anxi ous to fill them. If possible. The market on feeders was fully steady, although the stuff was a little slow In moving.
