BAXTER IS FISH CHAMPION
Englaeer of Federal Batldlnr P ts
All Records to Smash by
Big Catch.
Chief Engineer Charles Baxter of th fed"
eral building has entered tho lists as a
member of th fisherman's colony of that
structure. He went out to Cut Off lake
Wednesday and broke th record as a fish
erman, and rather than resort to photogra
phy to prove th six of his catch, took a
couple .of specimens to the federal building
Thursday morning, wrapped In a piece of
paper. They were as fine samples of chan
nel cats as have ever tempted the Integrity
of a fisherman. H could have carried
them In his vest pocket but he didn't.
They weighed gills, head, fins and stickers,
about an ounce and a half each, and run
about an Inch to the ounce In length.
Henry Homan was so jealous of Engineer
Baxter's success that ba forgot to appear
as a witness against Basil Frederick
Wydenham In police court on account of
that $14 bogus check he cashed for Wydsn
