H JGS Receipts were fslrly liberal st all
points this morning and Chicago snd Kan
sas City were quoted week to 5c lower.
Psckers here started In to pound prices
and succeeded In taking off about T4", as
compared with yesterday's sversge Some
of the psckers were even more bearish than
that and claimed they whuld rot buy hogs
unless thev could set them sbotit a nlcket
lower. The de-nand. though, proved to
be qul'ellbera!. from ehlrners ss wall as
from locsl psckers. so that the market
gnlned In strength ss the morning sdvs need
and toward the close it was sctlve and
nesrly steady with Yesterday's average.

CATTLE The number of cattle In sight
this morning waa not excessive for a Tues
day and while reports from other points
were not particularly encouraging still the
market here ruled ateady to strong and
fairly active.
There were several loads of corn fed
steers on sale and as high as $6.15 was
paid for n prime bunch to be used for tha
Christmas trade. The fair to good cattle
also chanaed hands without a great deal
of trouble at Just about ateadv
prlces. The common kinds were of course
neglected the same as usual, but no
quotable change from vesterday was
noticeable In the prlcea paid.
There were onlv a few western range
steers on 6nle good enough for packers, but
these that did nrlve met with ready sale
nt stronrer n'lcea and something choice
wotiM probablv havo sold higher. The
nuallty i.,f moat of the ofTerlnaa could not
b classed better than common.
There w-s a brlk demand 'nr row aturf
this morning and prices ruled a little
stronger all around n"lcss nerhans In the
case of coimon stufr which sold about

SHEEP Thero waa
here thla morning, but atlll none too many
to meet the retirements or tne u.iuc.
Packers were all out early and everything
that would do to kill In either sheep or
lambs changed hands as . let as unered at
good, strong prlocs. The quality ot part
,,f the offerings waa a little better than
usual and nr a result prices reached the
top point of the season to date. Fcdwelh
cih and vearlinga sold as high as $4.70 and
$4. HO. fed ewes brought $4.25 and fed western
liitnlia sold for $5.St and natives $6.25. All
the killers were sold In good season.
The demand for feeders waa again active
and with the comparatively small number
on sale the market ruled active nnd strong
on all desirable grades. Common stuff, of
course, waa more or less neglected, the
same as UHual.
