out of forty passengers escaped Injury
when a Spring Valley electric railway
car Jumped the track on a rharp curve nt
Webster park early this morning. Motor
man James Ball sustained several broken
ribs, while Conductor R. B. Houck's ! g
and arm wort broken and his lung was
pierced. by plnan. The passengers were not
seriously hurt. Thi car' was demolished,
turning over an embankment. The car was
going at high speed.

Swain, an attorney, late today shot and
killed C. W. Jones, secretary of the Hous
ton Fire and Marine Insurance company,
of which W. F. Swain, father of the for
mer, is president. Swain was arrested and
refuses to give any Information whatever
concerning the causes leading to the
tragedy.
